HANOI, Jan. 17 (Xinhua) — Vietnam will host the 8th Senior Officials’ Meeting (SOM-8) and the 3rd Inter-Ministerial Meeting (IMM-3) on anti-human trafficking of the Greater Mekong Subregion (GMS) countries on February 14-16, reported Vietnam News Agency on Tuesday.
As scheduled, at the SOM-8, delegates will review and evaluate the subregion’s cooperation on human trafficking prevention in the 2008-2010 and discuss plans for the 2010-2012, as well as select priority activities for 2012.
The meeting will also discuss issues of strengthening dialogue with other forums and evaluating the results of the Youth Forum of member countries on human trafficking prevention.
Meanwhile, IMM-3 participants will discuss, approve and sign a joint statement on anti-human trafficking.
The Greater Mekong Subregion includes Cambodia, China, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand and Vietnam.
