Cambodia Marks International Deaf Day…Cambodia everyday is blind day

AKP Phnom Penh, September 28, 2012 –

Cambodia marked here yesterday the International Day for the Deaf (Sept. 24) at Kien Khlaing National Rehabilitation Center for the Disabled under the presidency of H.E. Ith Sam Heng, Minister of Social Affairs, Veterans, and Youth Rehabilitation.

Over 400 people, including government officials, representatives of relevant organizations and institutions and persons with disabilities, attended the event.

Addressing the function, H.E. Ith Sam Heng highly praised and valued the Disabled People Foundation as well as national and international development partners for their endeavors to jointly organize this solemn ceremony.

He also informed the participants of the Royal Government of Cambodia’s endeavors to integrate the disabled into the society as well as to increase the intervention in the field of social affairs in order to enhance the job opportunities, strengthen the rehabilitation program for the disabled, and raise their wellbeing.
