Phnom Penh Court of First Instance’s Building Inaugurated…say what?

Arraignment Hearing Court,may be? Or Court for the First timers?

Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister H.E. Sok An presided over here yesterday the inauguration ceremony of the office building of Phnom Penh Court of First Instance and Prosecution at Phnom Penh Court of First Instance.

Addressing the inauguration ceremony, H.E. Sok An, also Minister in charge of the Office of the Council of Ministers and co-Chairman of the Council for judicial and legal reform, expressed the royal government’s attention to the judicial and legal reform with an aim to enhance the independence and impartiality of the judicial system.

He further laid stress on the royal government’s efforts in developing judicial institution’s physical infrastructure so as to respond to the concrete needs and to increase the work efficiency.

Mr. Chiv Keng, President of Phnom Penh Court of First Instance, said the court has seen much progress, both in quantity and quality, in the past six years thanks to deep reform, starting from administrative formalities arrangement to the enforcement of the code of professional conduct.

According to a report presented at the event, the six-floor building was constructed at a total cost of over US$2.7 million. The construction last one year and a half, from June 2010 to December 2012.
