Cambodia to attend IJC hearing in April

PHNOM PENH (The Cambodia Herald) – Cambodia will attend International Court of Justice hearings in The Hague in April over its border dispute with Thailand in Preah Vihear province, an official said Wednesday.

“​We ​have prepared documents and evidence already,” Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation spokesman Koy Kuong told reporters.

In a statement issued last week, the ICJ said Cambodia would give evidence followed by Thailand. The hearings are scheduled from April 15 to 19.

Cambodia filed a complaint to the court in May 2011 following Thailand’s occupation of a zone around the Preah Vihear Temple in 2008.

The ICJ subsequently ruled that Cambodia and Thailand should withdraw troops from a provisional demilit
